Jan 5th 2009 33 High Profile Twitter Accounts were Hacked or Phished and were corrupted with fake Tweets.  My Twitter stream yesterday was going haywire from all the celebrity profiles that were hacked into.  Keep in mind over the weekend the original blog phisher threat was going haywire and we were just now recovering from retweets of caution messages of changing our passwords.

So there was hype of a Twitter phishing scam that sources say were from China and now we get high celebrity profiles that got password hacked into and wrote fake but hilarious messages on Twitter.  

It seems that the forum Digital Gangster had members bragging about the account hack and apparently a member by the name GMZ was giving away account hacks.  Now could this be linked together with the phisher scam or is this completely a new hack just from the hype?

There are many programs out there, that will generate a list of most popular used passwords to try to hack into an account and maybe that was used or GMZ was the original phisher scammer and got the passwords he phished from celebrity profiles.  Very soon, just like the palin hacks, all this information will be leaked.
